A blank or frozen EPG is a common annoyance on GX6605S boards, and after digging into several cases, the cause is almost always software rather than the broadcast signal itself.
The most frequent fix was a full channel re-scan after a firmware update, since EPG data is tied to specific transponder and service ID mappings that can shift between software versions. A handful of “stuck” EPG screens cleared up immediately after this.
On some channel groups, EPG only partially loads (showing the current program but no schedule) which traces back to incomplete now/next data being broadcast rather than a receiver fault — no firmware fix resolves that case.
Clearing the EPG cache through the maintenance menu, where available, also resolved a few cases of duplicated or garbled program entries that a simple rescan didn’t fix.
Verdict: Try a rescan and EPG cache clear before assuming it’s a broadcast-side problem — most loading issues are fixable from the receiver’s own menu.
